About

Welcome to my blog!

Chances are, if you have found your way here, you probably have some interest in homesteading, farming, self-sufficiency, or some other related topic, and possibly share that feeling of wanting to simplify your life and get back to your roots, that so many people seem to be getting. For me, I feel that there is too much chaos in modern life, and I yearn for a simpler time, where less importance was put into 'things' and more importance was put on 'eachother'. Sure, I enjoy certain conveniences of modern society, I have an iPhone, a Facebook page, and use my laptop every day. However, I don't want my life to center around technology, and find much more satisfaction in digging my hands down in the warm earth, than harvesting crops on Farmville, and I would much prefer the smell and feel of a book in my hands, than reading pages off of a Kindle.
I grew up fascinated with the world that Laura Ingalls Wilder grew up in, and couldn't get enough of books about pioneers and people living on homesteads. I used to be told that I was born in the wrong century, and I definitely feel like it sometimes, but I embrace that and wouldn't trade it for anything. I'm a history lover, book worm, artist, mother, hippy, and a dreamer, and I like that just fine.
Join me on my journey to leading a more self-sufficient lifestyle and my goal of one day owning my own farm. On the way, I'll be sharing recipes, experiences, book and product reviews, and possibly a random piece of pioneer/Oregon history here and there.

 Enjoy!!
